A salvage barn at Old River Landing in Weston. Everything here was pulled out of a real building before the machines got to it, which means what is on the floor today is not what was on it last week. Call before you drive out.

In the barn

What is here changes with what came down.

Six or eight barn jobs a year and a steady run of house tear-outs. Measurements are chalked on everything. If you are matching something in your own house, bring the measurement and a photo and we will walk the racks with you.

Doors

Five-panel, four-panel, screen doors and the occasional pocket door with the hardware still on it. Most run 30 to 36 inches wide. Original paint stays unless you ask.

Mantels & overmantels

Oak, poplar and a few with the original beveled mirror. Usually eight or ten in the barn at a time and they move fastest in the fall.

Sash windows

Six over six, two over two, and transoms. The old wavy glass is intact on most of them, which is the whole reason people want them.

Barn lumber & beams

Weathered siding by the board foot, hand-hewn beams, and floor joists long enough for a mantel or an island top. We will cut to a rough length here so it fits the truck.

Lighting & odd lots

Schoolhouse shades, porcelain sockets, corbels, shutters, newel posts. This is the shelf people leave with when they came in for something else.

Hardware is priced on the tray. Deliveries inside about an hour of Weston can be arranged for a flat fee, and we will hold a piece for three days on a deposit. If you are looking for something specific, leave your number and we will call when it comes off a job.

The picking

Most of this was saved on the last day.

The barn fills because someone calls before the demolition, usually a week or two out. We take the doors, the trim, the mantels and the hardware, and we take them out slowly enough that they can be used again.

That is also why hours move around. If it is a picking week, the barn may open late or close early, so call or text before you make the drive out from the city. Someone will answer and tell you straight whether it is worth the trip today.
